A Legacy Built By Champions

SEASON HISTORIES:

2008 SEASON

Now the vision of a football team in Honolulu Hawaii called the Rebels was a great initial idea, but the financial cost of visiting teams flying into and out of Honolulu, as well as the Rebels traveling to any away opponent began taking a toll of the team and the league. Therefore, after only playing one game in Honolulu, team owner Hunter Schaal was forced to move his team to Salt Lake City, Utah for the remainder of the season, opting not to adopt Salt Lake or Utah as the team’s new name, but instead keeping the name Hawaiian Rebels.

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS:

Inaugural Season, Played in both Honolulu and Salt Lake City, 2008 Championship Appearance, Chad Pennington Season MVP.

FINAL RECORD:

11-5: Lost in Title Game

2008 SEASON

2009 SEASON:

With where the team would call home now sorted out, the next hurdle appeared for the Rebels. The Rebels now needed to find a league to call their own, as the 2009 season would not be another pickup game driven season, rather I wanted to get my team in the business of fantasy football. An opportunity presented itself in August 2009 when my dad’s buddy Steve called my dad with an offer. This offer was an invitation to join his son-in-law Sean’s fantasy football league. The Yuma Scorpions Fantasy Football League. . .

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS:

First Season in Yuma Scorpions Fantasy Football League, Final Year Known As the Hawaiian Rebels, Missed Playoffs, Matt Schaub Season MVP

FINAL RECORD:

4-9: DID NOT QUALIFY FOR PLAYOFFS

2010 SEASON

With my words as motivation, the California Rebels experienced a three-game win strike to move their record to 7-4 heading into Week 12 and the spotlighted Thanksgiving Weekend games. My family and I traveled to Colorado Springs, Colorado to visit relativities for the holiday, and one of the best things about Thanksgiving is getting to watch NFL Football. The 2010 Thanksgiving Game lineup did not disappoint either as the Patriots, Saints, and Jets all won thrillingly.

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS:

First season in Los Angeles, won first playoff game since 2008, RB Peyton Hillis Season MVP.

FINAL RECORD:

9-6: Lost in Semifinals to GMEN

2011 SEASON:

The Rebels started the 2011 season playing host to USMC in the highly anticipated “Battle of the House” matchup. The Rebels had three players playing in the Thursday Night opener, Drew Brees, Mark Ingram, and Greg Jennings. The Rebels had Jordy Nelson on the bench, but Nelson’s performance did not hurt the Rebels as the other three players playing in this game, came out of the gate dominating from the start. The Green Bay Packers would end up winning the game on a goal-line stand, stopping Rookie Mark Ingram in the backfield.

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS:

Started 4-0 | Drafted Drew Brees and WR Jordy Nelson | "Believe Be Ready" is born

FINAL RECORD:

2013 SEASON:

I officially took over as Yuma Scorpions Commissioner in mid-August. The first thing I did as commissioner was call up the former commissioner Sean Metz and ask him for advice on how we should approach the season. He gave me tips and tricks on how to manage the league as well as give me the contact information of the owners who played last season. It was now my job to see if they were interested in joining back up.

2015 SEASON:

However, the Rebels lead kept growing as the afternoon went on. The Rebels recorded double-digit points from their defense and double digits from their kicker Chandler Catanzaro. But it was the play and performance by Antonio Brown that sealed the deal for the Rebels. Brown, who I was worried about coming into his game versus Denver, finished the game with 16 catches for 189 yards and two touchdowns, a total of 48 fantasy points. His performance sealed the deal for the Rebels, they were going back to the Yuma Bowl for the second year in a row. On top of this, the team still had RB David Johnson and QB Drew Brees left to play.
