Week 2 saw fireworks between the Seattle Heist (0-1) and the Burlington Boss Hogs (1-0), in a matchup that quickly turned into a high-scoring thriller. Both teams got off to fast starts on Thursday, with Heist RB James Cook posting a career game, racking up 30.5 fantasy points on the back of three touchdowns. Not to be outdone, the Boss Hogs’ RB De’Von Achane exploded for 33.5 points, setting the tone for an epic weekend.
Kamara’s Historic Performance
The action heated up even more on Sunday when Heist RB Alvin Kamara lit up the scoreboard, scoring an incredible 50.0 points with 4 touchdowns, the highest single-player performance of the week. Seattle also saw strong outings from WR DK Metcalf, who added 28.9 points, and rookie RB Jahmyr Gibbs, who chipped in 19.2. The Heist, who were ranked 11th in the Commissioner’s Power Rankings heading into the week, used their frustration as fuel, scoring a league-best 175.6 points in a resounding 175.6-142.2 victory over Burlington.
Boss Hogs’ Effort Falls Short
While the Boss Hogs scored the third-most points in the league this week, it simply wasn’t enough against the surging Heist. QB Jalen Hurts led the way with 27.5 points, followed by Saquon Barkley with 21.6, and Jordan Mason, who provided an unexpected boost with 23.4. However, the Hogs’ biggest concern remains their WR corps, which has struggled to produce consistent results through the first two weeks. They’ll need to address this issue when they face the 1-1 California Rebels next week in what promises to be a pivotal cross-country clash.
Looking Ahead
With their first win of the season in dominant fashion, the Seattle Heist (1-1) will have their hands full next week as they host the undefeated 2-0 El Paso Red Devils in their first divisional matchup of the year. The Boss Hogs, meanwhile, will be looking to regroup when they head west to face the defending champion California Rebels in Week 3.
